PRAYER & LITURGY
The Life of Prayer
St. Teresa tells us: "Contemplative prayer in my opinion is nothing else than a close sharing between friends; it means taking time frequently to be alone with Him who we know loves us."
Students at SMMC are taught about prayer in its various forms, including mental prayer and are given opportunity to practise these in age-appropriate ways.
The school has compiled its own Treasury of Catholic Prayers which is used for class prayer before each lesson and for private devotion and examination of conscience.
Special prayer celebrations are held on particular feast-days and seasons, eg Rosary Processions, Stations of the Cross during Lent.
